KATADOR–EM

KATADOR-EM (mixture of cationic surfactants) is an emulsifier of cationic bitumen emulsions for use in road construction. Two types of product are produced, depending on the raw materials used for its production. The emulsifier is designed to produce rapidly disintegrating bitumen emulsions.

The product is available under two brand names. It depends on the raw materials used for manufacturing.

Application
The amount of cationic emulsifier KATADOR-EM required to produce 1 ton of emulsion is 3-8 kg. The aqueous solution of the emulsifier must be acidified with concentrated hydrochloric acid to pH = 1.8-2.2.
At a concentration of 0.3-0.8%, the product allows to obtain a stable, homogeneous, finely dispersed emulsion with a water content of up to 30-35%.
The use of bitumen emulsions in the road construction and road  repair makes it possible to:
— simplify the technology of road surface construction;
— improve their quality and service life;
— extend and compact the construction season;
— perform work with wet materials;
— carry out the construction and repair of road surfaces at relatively low plus temperatures (up to +5C);
— save up to 20% bitumen;
According to the human exposure data, the emulsifier  is classified as moderately hazardous product (the III^rd Hazard class as per GOST ГОСТ 12.1.007-76).

Product Specification

Storage and Shelf life 
The product is stored in hermetically sealed containers in indoor warehouses, at a temperature from 0 to +40 ⁰C.
It is allowed to store the product under a canopy on a planned site protected from direct sunlight and precipitation , in mandatory compliance with the temperature regime.

Shelf life — 12 months from the date of manufacture.

The product is packed in 180/200 kg polyethylene barrels. The use of another type of container can be agreed with the consumer.
